So I’ve had some issues with the clutch hydraulics on a Mk 8 2.2 Diesel. I’ve got fluid coming out of this little box (see pic)
Now if you follow the line from slave you get to this little thingy sited behind the n/s headlamp. It’s got a bolt snapped off you can see and that’s where the leak is. Whenever you pump the clutch it squirts out.
2 questions - what is it; and is it a case of getting a bolt extraction kit and fitting a new bolt or does the thing need stripping itself? Everything is completely seized on it; mounting bolts; hose union; only managed to get one of the lines off and be able to get it moving out a bit freer in the engine bay.
TIA

Just in case anyone finds this thread and is bemused as I am and encounters a similar issue...

This is the clutch damper. Apparently a reasonably common fail. £68 for a blueprint new part of you’re so inclined but the main issue for me was that because all of the bolts had seized-including in one of the unions- so I couldn’t dismount it from the engine completely. So read up on a few fixes and discovered the bypass hose (see pics). Depending on where you get it from you’re looking at £25 top - I paid £19 from a specialist Honda tuner.

So all’s I’ve done is taken the two clutch pipes out the back of the damper; given them a bit of a twist and connected them end to end with the hose. Remounted the damper; quick vacuum bleed; followed by an old fashioned bleed (one pump of the clutch with a broom handle up against the seat) and it’s like driving a new motor. Literally the entire feel of the clutch and the smoothness of it - you wouldn’t think this clutch has had a 50k through it.
