Hi, this is my first visit to this forum and I need some advice . . . .

I have lost the ignition key to my 1995 LSI 2D Coupe. I spoke with two dealers who advise they can replace it - one of the two needs my V5, the other want the car (???!!!??? - yes, the one I am locked out of). Both insist that they will need to "Code" the key for me. The key seems in every regard to be as pasive an item as a blank piece of metal can possibly be . . . Nevertheless, both the garages are quite confident that they can somehow program it.

Am I going mad? Does my lost key really incorporate an invisible transponder?

Regards,

Mal.

My Key was replaced by the main dealer for 10.80, all they needed was the Registration plate, and proof of ownership.
After i proved them wrong and told them not to try taking my money again, they cut me a key. There is no transponder in the ignition keys, and the EG series civics with immobilisers are activated/de-activated by the fob ( Optional extra) And even this only disactivates the fuel pump.
I took my V5 document with me to prove i owned the car.
Tell your dealer to stop chatting shit to you, as Honda Didnt employ Transponder type Imobilisation until the EK series.
They will do anything to take your money!!!
