This is the IFR Aspid SuperSport, a new roadster from Spanish automotive engineer Ignacio Fernandez Rodriguez.

The new car has a 2.0-litre supercharged engine with 400bhp, and does 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-100mph in 5.9 and a claimed 50mpg.

There's a whole lotta tech buried underneath its Caterham-a-like body. First up, there's a lightweight aluminium extrusion chassis weighing just 75kg.

The brakes consist of two thin discs each with 'turbine-shaped slots for maximum air cooling'. IFR claims this results in a weight saving of more than 70% compared with 'normal' brake systems.

Inside, the Aspid is decked out with a series of touch screens, allowing the driver to adjust the rev limit, valve timing, power output, steering assistance, ABS, brake balance, ride height and damping, traction and stability controls,

The standard Aspid SuperSport will cost around £110,000. We can't wait to drive it.
