Thanks for sharing this, was thinking of doing this. Got any pictures of the finished result? :)
Some pics as i recently installed my foglight with some very bad Japanese - English translated install manual. So did most of the install with guess work and my own savy lol Anyways pics of my install.
Bumper off

Sizing up the area that needs cut out

07022010260.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Draw out a rough area to cut & start to drill a few holes
07022010262.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Drill a few more holes and then cut remaining area out
07022010264.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
07022010265.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
You will need to widen the cut out area, do this by checking the foglight plate against the bumper. Your cuts can be rough as you want as the plate will hide the rough areas.... but dont go too crazy with it lol
07022010267.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
After cutting out the area the foglight plate should fit in fine enough.....
07022010268.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Drill a small hole in the vent area for the frontly screw hole and then the plate will fitt 100%
07022010269.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
After that lay out the wires for the foglight..... i forgot to take more pics of this doh (NOTE: when wiring these up disconect the battery first!)
07022010271.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Once you have wired it all up check that everything is working fine
07022010272.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
07022010274.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
07022010276.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
After you have tested the wiring disconect the fogs and screw them in place on the bumper
07022010279.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Then reconect the fogs to the wiring and check that everything works. If ok then tuck in the wiring
07022010281.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
07022010284.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Bumper back on...
07022010287.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]
Everything back on and new foglights working perfectly
07022010289.JPG[/attachment:3enjj12o]

Took me a good few hours to do but only because i wantted everything to be perfect lol
If you have any questions about installing these just let me know

No they are wired sepratly, didnt see the point in wiring them to the rears

yeah the main part basically lol are those the propper fogs every 1 goes for the actual lights look massive compared to the 1's you get for the eg's i'v just never seen ek fogs before :)
Yes they are the main/proper lights for the EK. Yeah the fogs for the EG are smaller in size compared to the EK ones

Re: How To Fit Fog Lights

I'm a nub when it comes to modding civics, how do you wire them up to come on separately from rear fogs? Do they come on with your dipped or main beam?

Re: How To Fit Fog Lights

Just take of the wire cover in the cockpit/dash and pull apart the wire and you will find a power/switch area to plug the wires in, this will power the switch for the front fogs making them independant from your rear fogs also from your main lights too. You can hook them up to come on only when your side lights/main beam are also on but i decided to keep them independant from the other lights
I'm waiting on some new lights coming along so ill have another write up on how to hook up these new lights of mine.

You know if you wanted to fit these fogs into a pre facelift bumper, is that doable? and how do you think it would look?

Re: How To Fit Fog Lights

Was it jdmhondaparts of ebay selling it for 44.99? if so, I got mine from there too, the wiring is soooo complicated and I had to use my own relay as the one given was useless, when I turned everything off the switch light was staying on for no reason which would eventually drain the battery and the fitament isnt all that great without cutting a few bits and pieces.

it is doable however this kinda job would be best done in a body shop as the bumper will need modding and the vent plate on the fogs covered over.
A mate of mine is getting this done so i will get pic's up sometime when its done
