a couple of weeks ago i got stopped by 5-0 for "reckless driving" apparently i was racing a clio (wouldnt waste my petrol) lol . i got a letter through from the cops and the statement said i was excessive speeding and driving with no due care and attention wich the speeding part would be impossible cause i was coming out of a set of lights onto a sharp corner . it was normal cops so they have no proof of the speed i was doing wich was only about 25 mph if that ........... ive only been driving since june so i dont wanna lose my liscence , help me please dont wanna lose my civic :surprised:

i think once the ticket is issued they cant un issue it but you have to ask them what speed device was used , when was it calibrated and can you have a copy of the certificate and generally on what grounds the offensive was committed and what proof they have,
basically you have to argue your case to the end and see how you go

good luck with it mate.

How can they possibly issue you a fine for excessive speeding when they have no idea of your actual speed? It sounds as though they are pushing the reckless driving one tbh.

Edit:

i went to the lawyers today they said the excessive speeding is part of the driving with no due care and attention and the fact that they have no proof of it , the cops were making a educated guesse (wanks), so its just there word against mine and my birds , so he reckons it could go both ways , but most likely to be in my favour as like i said it would be impossible to hit 50 mph in a 1.4 civic in the short space of say 7 metres and plus i would have to be a rally driver lol lol lol
