Hi,
I was wondering what is cheaper for insurance, a B16 swap for in my EJ9 or just buy an EK4?
and
Would it cost more to do an engine swap, brakes etc or just save the money and buy an EK4?

Thanks
Andy

Go and buy an ek4 unless your up for a challenge and want to pay more on insurance. An ej9 with an ek4 engine will cost more to insure than a standard ek4.

your insurance will class your car a group higher than the car the b16 came out of, so say the ek4 is a group 12, they will class your car as a group 13 with that engine fitted

ps i don't know what group a ek4 is, that was just for an example :)

D16Z6 or Y8 will be the easiest swap into that shell along with a ghetto home made turbo setup, cheap and quick.

on a single cam stock D series a t3 does nicely, or a t3/t04 if your planning on internals.

If your car is special.... take a good look, then it is up to you, if you have any reservations with the car you have I.E. rusty arches or any corrosion underneath go find another, but either way it will be spend, spend, spend.
