Where the red arrow is pointing you will find a code. Using this code:

1.4 litre:
D14A2, D14A3, D14A4, D14A8: 66kW SOHC 16v non-VTEC (88hp)

1.5 litre:
D15Z3, D15Z6, D15Z8: 85kW SOHC 16V VTEC-E (114hp)

1.6 litre:
D16Y2: 93kW SOHC 16V VTEC (125hp)
D16Y3, D16B2: 83kW SOHC 16V non-VTEC (111hp)
D16Y5: 86kW SOHC 16V VTEC-E (115hp)
D16Y6, D16Y8: 92kW SOHC 16V VTEC (123hp)
D16Y7: 78kW SOHC 16V VTEC (104hp)
B16A2: 118kW DOHC 16V VTEC (158hp) (5500rpm VTEC crossover) (33mpg quoted, MAX driven 40.2mpg)

1.8 litre:
B18C4: 125kW DOHC 16V VTEC (167hp)

Any issues with hp figures would be the fact that you cant really round UP as this would be adding power not actually there (i used calculator to convert kW to hp)

Honda's engines come out the factory with /- 5% of the quoted power. I believe mine is down as i dont "go off the clock" like some others have found, but this could be down to the standard car vs aftermarket manifold design (4-2-1 standard for low down tourque vs 4-1 aftermarket for power up high)

Feel free to add information about VTEC kick in/VTEC-E kick outs, MPG figures

surely cc's add's torque. i have 153 Nm and therefore more cc's addss torque? then why are renaultsport clio's 172/182 etc. slower than me? why am i faster? i know i have torque, even without vtec, something to do with the 4-2-1 manifold making it better.

torque is do do with many thing. alot is effected by the bore to stroke (piston travel) ratio. higher revving engines are normally "under square" with a smaller bore that stroke for higher compression. torquey lumps can be "square"- bore and stroke are same or " over square"- larger bore than stroke. but engine tuning and setup and manufacture have alot to do to it. reanualt is french no answer needed !!

also with vtec a relative torquey cam is paired with an agressive (VTEC) power cam hence why you have a better car and hondas rule. the renault uses one cam profile so they have to choose or compromise.

peak figures are useless in saying whether an engine is good or not. e.g that mitsubishi with a huge turbo! sooooo much lag that it cant keep up with a 1.6 fiat petrol for "in gear" acceleration!

when are they going to bring out special vtec's as in cruising it requires fuckall fuel then for mid range it opens up then near the top it changes cam? so has 3 stages that are intelligent?

although imagine the camshaft with like 300 lobes lol!
