i just got a 1.3 carbed civic and it wont idle and seems really slow

i took the air filter off, removed the mesh over the carb to find fuel running out of the jets!

i have tried to adjust the float level but no matter what i do i cant solve it!!!

my head now hurts and so does my fuel consumption!!!

any thoughts would be appreciated

Edit:

fixed!!

previous fiddlers had wound the float down so far it was jammed up and over pressurising

thank god for that can spend some money moddin now!!!

Hi mate sounds like your carb needs overhauled, the fuel shoud come out the jet in a finely atomised mist, defo not running or dribbling. It sounds like your float is not doing its job thus not cutting off the fuel inlet and basically floading the float chamber, it may be you have a splitt diaphram on the float plunger. But if you want better fuel economy and power mate get rid of the carb. getting a obd1 loom, ecu, engine and tank would not be too much from a breakers and would save you alot of hastle in the long run....carbs are old history
