Hello,
I've owned a 70k miles EJ9 2000 face lift civic for around 2 months now and it has always had a fairly high clutch which I've gotten used to but did question it's bite height. Also there was a smell inside the car when in fifth gear pushing the car. Anyway the other day i went to drive it as normal and the bite has completely sank to the floor and it feels very light almost as if i can't feel the clutch for all of the top half. It also have started to struggle going into gear as something is blocking it?

Any help appreciated, thanks

i am not an expert by far.
recently started to have the same symptoms as yours.
checking google and youtube returned a possible fault: clutch slave cylinder.
i would like to piggyback your topic with the hope that some could answer the logical approach:

in my 2.2 icdti the DMF is shaking a bit, clutch plate is slipping very slightly, the clutch pedal bite is right on the floor and sometimes the pedal does not travel back up unless i pull it up.
i can't afford DMF+clutch @ £1250 quoted.
i can afford slave cylinder @ £40 DIY

does it make sense to replace just the slave cylinder, with the hope to drive another 1-2k miles?
can DIY do it in a driveway with no lift?
