Hey

thought post up as all will be better than my views and know off etc

basically will cut to the chase without to much detail :

- 51 plate 1.4 s 5dr civic 72-73k on clock

basically a kinda knocking noise, sounds like coming from roughly where the clutch/gearbox is located (like i said roughly).

just was wondering if any other ideas what could be? knocks pretty much all the time only just started happening, performance wise its fine, taken to a garage and they said they think its clutch release but cant tell without taken gearbox out etc etc and quoted £400 for supply/fit off clutch, fair price or should avoid??

so basically asking for ideas what could be and if think price ok or not?

any help be great :)

honda are pretty fair on price but the job could be a waste of money. if it drives its fine
even if it is fu**ed it will run its a honda
is the knocking heard from the outside by passers bye?
has the preformance dropped?

if you press down the clutch pedal and the noise goes then it is the clutch release bearing(also called thrust bearing)
