After deciding not to go ahead with a prelude rebuild I am now strongly considering building a civic probably 5th gen and hopefully acheive a spec of 250bhp roughly. I say roughly as im not clued up about civics and not aware of the power capabilites, ideally i'd like around 300bhp on tap, but my target is 250bhp.

I would like to know your opinion and advice on the matter please...

Which car to use for the build...

help and ideas with the build including a reputable engine builder...

All help, advice and opinion greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Rob.

Edit:

After a little research, i believe i should start off with an ek4 civic - advice?

But, should i use the b16 or b18 engine?
I beleive the b18 is from the integra and later civics?

and would be a better engine to build because of their larger CC.

Rob.

Do you want to build an NA or turbo engine mate??

It also depends on what B16/B18 engine you pick up. The B18C1 (From the Integra Type R) will be good for about 200bhp from the box with a little work you could easily get it up to 250/300bhp. But then it depends which way you wanna go. Turbo will get you there quicker for less money obviously.

Theres also the K-series engine if you've got the dosh!!

Give Gerry at Performance Tek a ring mate he's a legend with Honda motors.
