Hi

I have an Automatic Civic se 2001 model, and keep getting this re-occuring problem where the car
will start ok, but when i stop and go to turn my first corner, the car will hesitate for 2 or 3 seconds
before accelarating. Can anyone one advise on what might be causing this.

Your ECU is likely to be the problem.
My 1.4 SE Auto (03 Reg) started the same 'Hesitation Blues' in the winter of 03/04 and repeated the behaviour each winter (except one which must have been a bit warmer) until Jan 08, when it was particularly cold and I found pulling out into a busy main road shortly after leaving home a hair-raising experience.
Each service (in March) my Honda garage fiddled round with carburetor settings and replaced bits until the weather got warmer and the problem went away. Finally, he got round to trying the most expensive option - a new ECU.
Fortunately, since I had all the documentation showing that it was an unsolved (and very dangerous) issue dating from the warranty period, Honda finally agreed to replace the ECU free of charge. No problems since.
Hope this helps
