as above

i currently have a 1997 1.8vti which i dont really like the look of that much

was wondering how easy it would be to fit the VTEC engine and gearbox etc into a late reg rover 220 tomcat shell???

as honda and rover share so many bits im guessing it would be a pretty straight forward swap? am i right

at some point in the future id also like to turbo the VTEC

any ideas or experiences of this swap would be much appreciated
im new to hondas as been a lifelong bmw man but time for change is here 8-|

Re: 1.8 VTECH into a tomcat shell???/

sod the kids im just bored tbh lol

im 37 and hankering after a toy that can be useddaily but also on a tight budget

hence the tomcat shell being a cheaper option than a civic coupe etc

only reason im thinking turbo in the future is i dont do a lot of milleage so would be nice to have the poke available as and when i wanna play,

Hi there i had a D16 in my last coupe previous owner had fitted it was quite easy apparently needed new mounting brackets to be made up and used rover gearbox rover drive shafts. I am doing a Rover Coupe for my project which will envolve a D16 DOHC Turbo'd Lump (I will keep you posted it will be an ongoing project due to lack of funds)

Good Luck
