just wondering whats a good exhaust back box to go for for a ep2 sport? i know you can get univeral jap cans that will need welding and that but do they suit the car and sound nice? ideally i want it quite loud because if it aint loud enough i would need to get a straight through center pipe aswell lol like i got on my corsa atm. i wouldnt really want to spend like ÂŁ100 on a branded back box and it to not sound very loud so just wondering what people suggest

oh thought i was thinking maybe you meant bpipe , backbox pipe or something lol didnt really understand. but yeah center pipe is good for noise, guess theyre a bit cheaper on their own than a backbox on its own? whats the standard ssize of a facelift ep2 exhaust, is it twin 2.5" or twin 3" ? i don't really think twin pipes though lol

TBH your better off getting the straight through system, a lot of the time using a Uni box on a standard Bpipe just makes a sound like a wet fart in a tin can!! It might make it loud but people will just think you got a hole in your exhaust rather than it sounding sporty and powerfull.

Just my opinion though, im sure plenty of ppl are just using backboxes and are quite happy with sound.

ah okay didnt realise about that. its just the uni bboxes seem to make loads of noise, where as branded ones don't seem to make much difference in noise (especially sportex from my experience) , but yeah the uni ones don't sound as nice as proper branded made to fit ones prob just end up splashing the money and getting bpipe and bbox straight fit then, but i want the bbox to be a nice jap can type tip though as they suit civics well, so maybe 4" slash cut sportex backbox then? not sure what other big jap bboxes are about other than universal ones lol

Yeah done a quick search, not many bboxes around, mostly full systems or uni boxes for the EP2. If sportex does one then go for that, 4" slash cut would look good on any civic  but I wouldn't go any bigger than that. Jap can is deffenetly the way to go!!

Just remember it's your car and your opinion that counts, doesn't matter what anyone else thinks aslong as you like it.

only thing with sportex, yes theyre alot cheaper than other makes, but they tend to be alot quieter. my 4.5" oval backbox on my corsa 1.2 barely made any difference lol especially from inside the car with windows shut. so thats whats putting me off sportex again and making me swap towards uni or something. lets say i did buy uni, would i just buy another standard backbox for ep2, cut off the pipe at the end of the backbox that will join the center pipe, then weld the uni box onto end of that?

Erm!! Im not a 100% sure on that one  . Thing is i've only ever handled full straight through systems on my cars and my mates. TBH just take it to an exhaust specialist/garage (unless your confident in doing the work yourself), cos with Uni boxes you'll have to weld on the hanging brackets aswell. So you gota do some precise measuring to figure out where the box will sit, how far back to cut the mid pipe to allow for the longer uni box and where exactly the hangers are going to sit!!! I'ts not easy, plus if the welding isn't spot on then your exhaust will start blowing or fall off! (i've had that happen and I wouldn't reccomend it  )

Well having an EP2 makes things a bit more awkward, I don't think HKS and Buddy club make systems for the EP2 and im not too sure about Spoon . Im personally going to use either Mongoose or Scorpion depending on the style of backbox i go for.
You may be right mate!! You'll have to look into it! whatever you do please dont get an oval one....... lol only jokin, get whatever floats ya boat! :)

any of you guys know where to get a exhaust system for a start lol? nowhere seems to sell them online for the ep2 sport, they all seem to be the old civics or the type r, not the 1.6 sport. trying to find a sportex system if anyone knows where the hell to find one?!?!

i did try searching google but most seemed to be for type r :/ i wanted a sportex 4" slash cut system as theyre quite cheap usually, and for the type r catback system was about ÂŁ200 so not too bad.
ebay doesnt have any either except a couple stainless steel ones for ÂŁ350 roughly and buddyclub spec for like ÂŁ600 lol and maybe some others but nothing i fancy really
