bloody hell, i seen this car before and never would have guessed it was a 1.3 dx

and i got to ask, why would you need them brakes on the 1.3? wouldn't it be stronger than the actual car, i have a dx and the standard brakes are good enough, car doesn't go fast enough to need them kind of brakes, but i guess brakes are a very important thing to have alot of money you could use elsewhere, but your money mate ;)

the brake disks are only £80 on The Bay and there more for asthetics to me than braking power but obviously would be better to : )
i'v allready tidied all the daft problems up like tubing 1 of the front arches so it dosen't catch anymore changing wiper blades and a good service of all the usual stuff just on with getting a new dizzy cap and rotor arm atm and i'v got some EBC GreeStuff pads on the way it handles really good but the shocks are a bit too stiff the car bounces up and down over any bumps in low gears lol and it does catch speed bumps on the front lip (even after iv taken the splitter off) and on the cat and silencer... so eventually i will raise the front about 30mm

sounds like a great project, are you planning on anything with the engine then? a bigger engine swap or the twin carb swap.

the rear lights and bootlid are staying as they are on the car for now.

I've just replaced the disk pads which where at the back plates with EBC greenstuff  what a differance they make allready only problem i had was the prev owner ruined the nut head on the caliper so i had to grind it off and find a new nut if i didn't have to do that would have been a nice quick job with no stressing  lol

just found out the prev owner who said to me it had 60mm lowered springs and said 80mm on this forum had put 40mm spax springs on and cut them down to 60-80mm thats why im getting a shi* bouncy ride so im not to happy about that

*irritating fire up's*
I seem to be getting lazy fire ups of the car iv been eliminating problems giving it a good servicing iv changed the spark plugs for iradium good performance 1's iv changed the dizzy cap and rotor but it stll wont turn over first time i have to put my foot on the acelerator to get some juice going to turn it over  i saw people having similar problems and where told it might be the actual distributor if it was a weak battery it wouldn't turn over fast for ages before firing up would it ? and if it was the alternator the battery would go flat so it can't be those ?

I've never seen a 1.3 EG with a sunroof before, was this fitted onto the car by the previous owner ?
Or was this trim available with a certain model of 1.3?

Ii didn't wash the rims in these pics those marks are all dirt and brake dust from the day before the only thing on the alloys that spoils them is a patch where some weights where put on the outside and removed last weekend when i got new tyres on the fronts :(

Little update the car is not this low anymore its in the garage as i speak getting 40mm lowering springs on the front and 35mm on the rears...
because the car was TOO low and the springs where chopped by the prev owner resulting in sh*t ride kept bouncing all over  and i ripped the front bumer off parking on a field at sedgefield car boot  !!! luckily only the sides ripped off and the full thing went forward and up so it was looking at the sky lol no damage was done exept a bit of paint flaked off the driver side arch ( i was soo lucky)

its called manga cars or something i just searched for a eg hatch and on photoshop i lowered it and made it look like my car coloured it in roughly the same colour as mine ect but when i finished i realised i reduced the size of the cars a bit to much but couldn't be bothered to re do it all xD

and an exhaust is on my list but they cost a lot :( i think im going to get exhaust-a-fix in darlington to custom make me a mild steel 1 from the manifold to the backbox 1 piece, the stainless 1's from them cost too much for me atm i'll be getting that 1 made in a year or so mild steel is guaranteed for 2 years before it rusts through just not sure if it would be stupid loud with no silencers i might have to have one in the new pipe work when i get round to it..

you got any pics of yours wouldn't mind a look at some more eg's for ideas ect

Update the car looks SH*T now the new higher springs are on it feels like a boat its got body roll and feels like a monster truck im a bit gutted i spent money to replace the springs to this height i didn't know what height the cut 1's had been lowered so i went for 40mm lowering springs (the lowest i could find for just springs on there own) and there just to high might ne safer but it feels like a taxi now, there actually pretty soft springs :( gonna have to put up with it untill i can get coil overs :(
