    Default Fitting replacement fog light

    Hi All,

I bought a 2006 Civic 2.2 ES a few months ago and so far I've been very satisfied with my first Honda.

This morning I noticed that the nearside fog light glass is broken and my local Honda dealership want 120 to fit a replacement. The part alone will be around 85, so I thought I might try and save myself a few quid by fitting it myself.

Has anyone done this on the new model Civic and is it reasonably straight forward?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nigel

    Hi Steve,

I like to have a go at most things myself but to be honest, I was put off by the fact that the retaining bolt for the fog is apparently difficult to put back in. In the end, I had the dealer fit a replacement while it was in for it's service and MOT.

What I have done now is to fit the fog light protectors made and offered by gray52 on this forum. They look good and should greatly reduce the risk of it happening again.

    All the best,

    Nigel

i had this prob as well. Not easy but managable. you will gently need to peel the front bumper off to get to the foglight. the rst i got it from user manual. I got the foglight from eurocarpart for 65. it is only one srew holding the fog light. have fun

I got it from eurocarparts for about 60-65 and a mechanic changed it for 5.

the foglights usually have a hole underneath them on the bumper where if you look inside have a 8 or 10mm bolt securing the foglight. as far as i know thats the only thing you have to remove to take the fog light out. if that dont work remove the bumper by removing the srews on the side and a few clips on the top and bottom of the bumper. hope this helps.

    Hi,
I've just replaced my o/s front fog light on a 2007 civic 2.2 diesel.
It was straight forward. I jacked the corner up. Immediately below the fog light there are two holes on the under tray. The one nearest the edge of the car has an adjuster screw to change the angle of the light. You can shine a light up that one. Peering through the second hole, straight up, you'll see a 10mm bolt head. Insert socket on extension arm, locate and unscrew. Retract the socket and hopefully the bolt. The Fog light will now come out. Unclip, replace and do reverse of above. No need to remove any bodywork!
Hope that helps someone out there.
    Cheers
    Guy

Does anybody know if you can retrofit fog lights to an SE model? I'm unsure if the wiring loom will all be there ready or not????
