Unhappy Adding Sat Nav to non Sat Nav Sport model

I am about to purchase a brand new Honda Civic Sport, but the sport model no longer has the integrated sat nav as standard.

So considering my options I could go for the SE Plus Navigation which looks a tad boring but does have the in built navigation but the Sport looks so much better.....

I have looked on the Honda website and it seems that it is possible to use a mobile phone app in order to have sat nav on the screen, however when speaking to a Honda salesman they insisted that if the model is a non navigation model that there was no way to have navigation on the screen.

The salesman did seem to know what he was talking about however this has left me a little confused almost to the point that I dont purchase the vehicle as I need sat nav and dont want to clip on a tomtom/garmin.

Does anyone have any knowledge about anyway to get sat nav using the inbuilt screen or any valid suggestions?

The car head unit has the Android Auto function you can use google maps with a compatible android phone. The phone must have Android 5.0 or above installed. There are loads of other neat things you can do with Android Auto and the voice activated controls work well.

Instal android auto on your phone using play store app on your phone, once installed connect your phone to your radio using the usb charge lead that came with your phone then start android auto on your phone. Android Auto will then open on your radio screen in the car, once open touch the microphone button in the right hand corner and say "Navigate to where ever you want to go" the radio will then start google maps on your car radio screen. you can text message ect just by hitting the microphone button and tell it who you want to text, then say your message.
    Hope this helps.

A lot depends on the phone your using. The only one I know might work is the HTC 10 but thats only word of mouth and I haven't actually seen it. I've tried loads of different phones. Android Auto needs Android 6 to work.

I have managed to load WAZE directly onto the head unit via the Ap install from USB stick function. If you go to the HR-V forum and search for the topic titled Hondalink &Spotify it's all in there.
